Youth demonstrated on OBC reservation: Demand for maximum 35 percent reservation in proportion of population, memorandum submitted to SDM

Demonstrations are being held across the state in protest against the amendment order in the year 2018 in OBC reservation. In Wazirpur on Tuesday, other backward classes (OBC) people demonstrated under the leadership of social worker Shiv Singh Chaudhary and submitted a memorandum to SDM Jawaharlal Jain. During this, he demanded cancellation of the 2018 amendment order in OBC reservation and fulfilling other demands including reservation in proportion to population. In 2018, the OBC reservation rules amended and changed 12.5% reservation of ex -servicemen to 21% reservation of OBCs. This amendment order can be canceled and the system should be implemented as before. Due to this amendment of the Personnel Department, OBC candidates have lost about 10 thousand posts in all the recruitments which have been held from 2019 to 2022, for which additional 10 thousand posts should be compensated for the damage created. When reserved posts in jobs are vacant, that post should be filled with the same category (SC, ST, OBC), 100 point vacancies based rosters should be effectively implemented in all departments. Apart from this, reservation is being given to all reserved sections in the state in proportion to population, but the population of OBC is about 60% and reservation is only 21%, so reports from the State OBC Commission to provide reservation in the proportion of population by survey On the basis of new law, adequate reservation should be given.

people said in the memorandum that OBCs should be benefited in other welfare schemes including reservation by conducting caste census like Bihar in many states of India. After the 105th Constitutional Amendment Act is implemented, Parliament has given special rights to the state governments regarding OBC reservation, so the government should be given at least 27 percent and maximum 35 percent reservation in the proportion of population to the government. OBC Welfare Board should be formed to make policy and plan for social, economic and educational progress of OBC. Many people including Guman Singh Chaudhary, Maharaj Singh, Ashok Akodia, Jitendra Jat, Kampan Singh etc. were present on the occasion.
