Alwar: An interesting case of contempt has come in Rajasthan High Court. In that case, the sarpanch refused to take the panchayat assistant, saying that if the employee was taken into service in the cradle of the court order, it would disregard the order of the Gram Sabha. The High Court has now issued a contempt notice to this sarpanch Rameshwari Devi of Nayabas Gram Panchayat of Bansur in the case and sought a reply. Justice Anoop Dhand has given this order on the contempt petition of Ashok Bhati.

In the petition, advocate Rampratap Saini told the court that the petitioner was working as a panchayat assistant in Nayabas Gram Panchayat, Bansur. He was removed from the post on the basis of the proposal taken in the Gram Sabha's 13 November 2021 meeting. At the same time, on May 20, the High Court banned the removal of the petitioner from the post. At the same time, the local sarpanch wrote a letter to the Development Officer and said that he has been removed on the proposal of the Gram Sabha for being grossly negligent towards the panchayat works and being absent from voluntary.

In such a situation, if he is accepted in the cradle of the court order, then it has to disregard the order of the Gram Sabha. Therefore, necessary guidelines and guidance should be given in this regard. The petition said that the development officer had earlier asked the petitioner to take it into service, but the sarpanch deliberately disobeyed the court order, accepted the proposal of the Gram Sabha on the High Court's order. Therefore, contempt action on the guilty sarpanch should be implemented. While hearing, the single bench has issued a contempt notice to the sarpanch and summoned the reply.
