Former India cricketer Rahul Dravid's new advertisement for a credit card payment application is taking social media by storm after it was released on Friday. Dravid, who is known as one of the nicest and most well-behaved human beings in the cricketing fraternity, looks the complete opposite in the ad.
The advertisement has gone viral on social media and has already garnered over 13,000 views on YouTube in just over 2 hours since being posted online.
Dravid completely loses his cool in the ad and can be seen howling and screaming while sitting in his car at a red light. He also shouts at fellow commuters and at one point, even takes out a bat to break the side-view mirror of the car standing next to his.
Dravid also yells “Indiranagar ka gunda hun main” during the whole episode.
In the ad description, the former cricketer says, “Hi, this is Rahul Dravid writing the description for this video. Sorry, I lost my temper there. I am meditating these days. Well, I am just writing this to let you know that CRED truly rewards you every time you pay your credit card bills on time. They are good people.”
Popular standup comedian Tanmay Bhat wrote this ad along with Devaiah Bopanna, Puneet Chadha, Nupur Pai, and Vishal Dayama. Ayappa KM, founder, Early Man Film directed it.
The commercial and Dravid's acting in it has left even the likes of Virat Kohli, who played under his captaincy at Royal Challengers Bangalore, and T Natarajan pleasantly surprised.
"Never seen this side of Rahul bhai," Kohli commented on the ad.
"Rahul sir. Somebody gonna get hurt real bad," Natarajan tweeted.April 9, 2021

Dravid took to coaching after stepping away from international cricket in 2011. Dravid played 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and 1 T20I for India during his professional career which lasted 15 years.
Dravid coached the India A and U-19 teams from 2016 to 2019 after which he was given charge of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. But he continues to work closely with young Indian players and monitors their progress on a regular basis.
