The retail sales of vehicles declined by eight percent in July on an annual basis due to a decrease in registration of passenger vehicles, two -wheelers and tractors. Fada, the body of auto dealers, gave this information on Thursday. According to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the total retail sales of vehicles last month were 14,36,927 units, which was 15,59,106 units in July 2021. Retail sales of passenger vehicles (PV) fell 5 percent in July 2022 to 2,50,972 units, while in July 2021 the figure was 2,63,238 units. Even though it may have decreased, new models of vehicles are being launched in the market, especially the compact SUV category which is helping in the increase.
