The government is gradually eliminating the subsidy on LPG cylinder. By stopping the subsidy, the government has deposited crores of rupees in its treasury. In 2020-21, the central government spent Rs 11,896 crore as LPG subsidy, while in 2021-22, this expenditure has come down to just Rs 242 crore. In this way, by eliminating the subsidy, the government saved Rs 11,654 crore in only one financial year. According to the Ministry of ITrolium, Rs 23,464 crore was spent on LPG subsidy in Finance 2017-18, according to the Ministry. The financial year 2018-19 has reached Rs 37,209 crore. After this, the government appealed to the people to give up subsidy and crores of customers gave up subsidy on this appeal, causing the government's expenses to come down to 24,172 crore in financial 2019-20. This has reduced the number of people receiving subsidies. The government has started subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder for PMUY beneficiaries up to 12 refills in a year. The subsidy on the cylinder is deposited in the beneficiary's bank account. In 1 year, the price of domestic gas cylinder was Rs 834.50 in gas cylindardilli on 23 July 2021, which has now reached Rs 1053. That is, the domestic gas cylinder price has increased by Rs 218.50 in the last one year. The subsidy on this has also been abolished. 30 crore people in the country have a LPG connection in India, about 30 crore people have LPG connection.
