When the tribal farmer of Maharashtra, Rahebai Popre received the Padma Shri honor in 2020, there was a wave of happiness in his village. 154 Maybai Popare has done the work of conservation of seeds of desi variety. Due to this work, seeds have also been available to farmers for the yield of these 154 species. This has seen a big change in the lives of farmers. The Government of India honored Padma Shri in view of this contribution of Rahibai in the agriculture sector. Rahebai is known as Seed Mother and Seed Women in Maharashtra.

63 -year -old tribal woman from Maharashtra, Rahebai Popare was born in Komalne village in Ahmednagar district. While working in her village, Rahibai pioneered the movement to preserve indigenous seeds, conserving 154 indigenous seeds including rice and tide. Due to his work, farmers got a big benefit. She has been doing this work for the last 25 years, she believes that in today's time most children are malnourished. Because people are using more pesticides and chemical fertilizers. For this reason, she is contributing to the agriculture sector by preserving indigenous seeds. They believe that the seeds that they are protecting them need water and only air. They do not require chemical fertilizers. She considers these seeds to be Old Is Gold.
