Son of Welder to play Commonwealth Games: Vijay Yadav becomes a judo player so that the country expects gold from him

Papa used to do welding work, we had a big family. We are 5 siblings. There were 7 people in the house including mother and father. Papa did not get so much money from welding that we could get a full -time food. So I started going to the game center, so that if I get selected in a game, I will get a lot of food. If I do something good, then later a government job will also be found, which will also improve the financial situation of the family. This is the story of Judo player Vijay Yadav, selected for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 60 kg weight. Vijay has won medals in many competitions and this time Vijay is expecting gold to the whole country. Dainik Bhaskar has interacted with this player. Here is the major part of the conversation with him ... Question: How did you start Judo? Answer: I did not know about a game like Judo. Our financial condition was so bad that it was difficult for our father to arrange a balance of a time. I only knew that if I play any game and I get selected in the Sports Academy of UP Government, then I will get a lot of food. If everything goes well, then you will also get a job. With this mind, I started visiting the center of Sai (Sports Authority of India) in Benaras. There I came to know about judo. Later I was selected in the residential center of the judo game. My father used to do welding work. His earnings used to spend the expenses of our family of seven people. The ration used to come from the father who got some money. The game has taken me out of these difficulties, now you have to do something for the country. Was bad. There was no fare to go by auto or car to go to the center. The center was about 10 to 15 km from my village. I used to take a lift from a bicycle person to go to the center and sometimes from other vehicles. Many times I had to go on foot, many times he used to give a lift for a few kilometers. This was the daily story. Later I was selected at the residential center. After which I started getting all kinds of facilities. Returned after a month after training. Our camp is set up in Delhi. Here we are getting all kinds of facilities. We will also get benefit in the Commonwealth Games in Europe and participate in the championship. If I win from this, I will definitely decide the journey to the medal.
