Eknath Shinde expanded his cabinet after 41 days after taking oath as Chief Minister in Maharashtra. 18 MLAs, including BJP state unit president Chandrakant Patil, took oath as a cabinet minister at Raj Bhavan in South Mumbai. Among the 18 ministers are 9-9 ministers from BJP and Shinde faction. In which no woman has been included. The number of members in the cabinet of Maharashtra has now increased to 20, which is not even half the number of 43 members. On June 30, Shinde took the oath of office as Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis as Deputy Chief Minister.

Governor BS Koshyari administered the oath of office to the ministers. The program was to start at 11 am, but started with a delay of 15 minutes. Members involved in the cabinet from the BJP include Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chandrakant Patil, Vijaykumar Gavit, Girish Mahajan, Suresh Khade, Ravindra Chavan, Atul Save and Mangalprabhat Lodha. Members who took oath of minister from Shinde faction include Gulabrao Patil, Dada Bhusa, Sanjay Rathore, Sandeep Bhumre, Uday Samanta, Tanaji Sawant, Abdul Sattar, Deepak Kesarkar and Shambhuraj Desai. The assistant said that no state minister took oath today. Later, the cabinet will expand again. BJP has included Lodha from Mumbai, while Shinde faction did not include any MLA from there in the cabinet. Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections are to be held this year.
