Seasonal vegetables are also getting inflation on seasonal vegetables during the rainy season. The gourd that gets Rs 15 kg is currently getting the customer for 50 rupees per kg. Prices of other vegetables are also touching the sky. The price of green chillies has reached Rs 100 per kg. Vegetable has started becoming expensive even before the festival starts.

No vegetable rate below potatoes is running 140 to 150 rupees per 5 kg. Potato is the cheapest among vegetables. The same rates are at Kaseru Buxar, Ganganagar, Defense Colony, Shastrinagar, Jagriti Vihar, Shaheepir Gate and Kankarkheda in Meerut. Vegetable vendors are avoiding selling expensive vegetables.

Effect on chili from high temperature

Green chillies are supplied not only from Meerut and Hapur district to Delhi but to Delhi. But in the months of May and June, the chili crop has been damaged due to high temperatures. Due to this, chili yield is low. The most chili is grown in Kharkhauda and Lavad regions of Meerut. The rain is damaging the vine vegetables. Apart from gourd, Torai and Bhendi are also facing inflation at the moment.

gourd - 50 rupees kg

green chillies - 90 to 100 rupees kg

tomatoes - 45 to 50 rupees kg
