Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi have also commented on his appeal. Asaduddin Owaisi said, "They are appealing to us to install tricolor DP and take out a rally but the RSS rejected Indian independence and tricolor." He has cited an article on 17 July 1948 by an RSS mouthpiece organizer to demand the saffron flag "national flag".
