• President comes under Article 52
  • The President is the constitutional head of the country.
  • The President is the first citizen of India.
  • Qualification of the office of President: According to Article-58 of the Constitution, a person is eligible to be President when he –
  • Be a citizen of India.
  • Must have completed 35 years of age.
  • Must be eligible to be elected a member of the Lok Sabha.
  • Does not hold an office of profit at the time of election.

Note: If a person holds the office of President or Vice-President or is a member of the Council of Ministers of the Union or any State, then he will not be considered as an office of profit.
