Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has given a big verdict regarding the cases filed under the SC-ST Act in Uttar Pradesh. The High Court said that the complainant should not get government compensation only on the basis of registering an FIR or filing the charge sheet. Only after the accused was convicted, the complainant should get compensation.

High Court made a strong comment on the SC-ST Act and said that people compromise with the accused to get compensation in all cases. They apply to the court to withdraw the criminal cases lodged. The High Court has given this decision when such cases come up in large numbers. The High Court has also asked the Chief Secretary of UP, Principal Secretary Home and Social Welfare Department to send a copy of the order.
