For all the districts of Jharkhand, the Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert on rain, but so far such rain has not received in Jharkhand. Due to less rain, the concern of the farmers of Jharkhand has increased. Farmers are facing problems that this time they will be troubled to eat. Many farmers are planting paddy by irrigating this. But transplanting by irrigation of the field is proving to be an expensive deal for farmers.

If farmers believe, diesel, petrol kernel oil is used for irrigation. In some places, farmers use electricity -powered motor pumps, but this number is very low. Farmers say that if the field is prepared for wet planting of paddy in one acre, then for this, water will have to be run for 24-36 hours continuously from boring. Then most of the water dries up due to lack of moisture in the ground. It is just a waste of water. Apart from this, if somehow irrigation is done and transplanting, then where will you bring water when the water dries up again.

Farmer Sunil Oraon, the farmer of Mandar block, says that 95 rupees liter of diesel purchases Tax irrigation is quite expensive. In this, about 1500 rupees are spent in irrigation per acre. Petrol is also 100 rupees a liter. He said that farmers are being subsidized on diesel in Bihar. Due to the plain area, water is available under the ground. But Jharkhand is a plateau area, the level of ground water here is also below. Therefore, where to bring water, it is a big problem. He said that till a few years ago, diesel was cheaper, so there was no problem in irrigation, but now its prices have increased, so the cost of irrigation has doubled.
