  • Rishabh Pant was caught on camera sledging his DC teammate Sam Billings during a practice session
  • Billings, who played for DC in 2016 and 2017, returned to the franchise this year after being bought back by the franchise
  • Pant will be leading DC for the first time in his career this season in the absence of the injured Shreyas Iyer

Rishabh Pant is one of the chirpiest wicketkeepers in world cricket, something which fans have witnessed and loved time and again when he dons the gloves for Team India. Pant likes to have a go at the batsman on strike when he is standing up to the stumps against the spinners.

Pant loves to get under the skin of the batsman by constantly talking about his shortcomings from behind the stumps. He does it so often that he couldn't even resist having a go at his own teammate during a net practice session with Sam Billings.

Delhi Capitals have posted a funny video on their social media accounts in which Pant can be seen sledging Sam Billings during their practice session in Mumbai.

The new DC skipper was standing up to the stumps as Billings batted against a spin bowler but struggled to put bat to ball. Pant, not able to control himself, had a few cheeky things to say from behind the stumps even as the Englishman tried to adjust against the turning ball.

Billings, who was part of DC in IPL 2016 and 2017, returned to the Delhi camp after being bought by the management at his base price of Rs 2 crore in the IPL auction 2021 in February.

"Rishabh Pant can't resist himself behind the stumps, even during practice," Delhi Capitals captioned the post.

Pant will be leading Delhi Capitals for the first time in his career this season in the absence of Shreyas Iyer, who was ruled out of IPL 2021 with a left shoulder injury.

Iyer, who led DC to the playoffs in 2019 and took them to their maiden IPL final last year, dislocated his shoulder in the first ODI against England last month and will undergo a surgery very soon.

Delhi Capitals will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 10.
