“The feeling in the camp is absolutely electric and upbeat. It is the start of a new season and we all know that. The guys are very excited to get going and we have got some new faces in the squad as well, which is exciting.
“The IPL is always an exciting time. And coming off from playing a lot of cricket as well, so yes looking forward to get going. I think it is going to be a good one this year as well. Hopefully, we can do the right things, we can continue from where we left in Dubai,” Rohit said in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians on Twitter.
Speaking about his team-mates and the New Zealand trio of Jimmy Neesham, Adam Milne and Trent Boult, he got out of their 7-day mandatory quarantine just a day earlier, Rohit said that it was great to have these players in the squad.
Trent Boult played a big role for us last season, says Rohit
“I am pretty sure they are all excited to get out on the park. They have been in quarantine for 7 days and I know how it feels when you come out the first day, it is nice to just get to breather fresh air. To get to be on the park and do what you love to do.
“I am sure those three guys are feeling the same. It is good to have Jimmy Neesham for the first time in MI squad. Adam Milne has been part of MI before as well, it is good to have him in the squad too.
“And of course, Trent (Boult), who played a big part for us in the last season. We expect nothing less from him this year as well,” Rohit added.
Trent Boult was terrific in IPL 2020 and scalped 25 wickets for the five-time champions and was the third-highest wicket-taker in the season.
