In a bizarre turn of events, a woman in China found out that her son's would-be bride is actually her long-lost daughter.

At a wedding in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province in China, the groom's mother noticed a birthmark on her would-be daughter-in-law's hand, which was similar to her own daughter's, reported Oriental Daily.

Having lost her daughter about two decades ago, the mother couldn't stop herself from asking the bride's parents if she was adopted.

The bride's family was shocked as the news of her adoption was a well-guarded secret all this while. The mother wanted to know the truth and then went on to explain the identical birthmarks. The family then revealed that she was rescued by her adoptive parents some 20 years ago from the roadside, according to Oriental Daily.

As soon as the bride found out about her biological family, she broke down in tears. The photographs from the ceremony with the bride in her wedding gown, crying and hugging her mother have taken social media by storm.

However, the bride was then in a dilemma as it meant that she will be getting married to her elder brother. In another twist, the woman then revealed that her son was adopted, implying they were not biological siblings.

Ultimately, for the mother, the bride turned out to be her biological daughter and the groom became her son-in-law.
