Gaya gets 5 crores on top of delta ranking: Additional allocation made on the initiative of Mission Director Expressive District Program

According to the Delta rankings of NITI Aayog, Government of India, Gaya district has been given an additional allocation of Rs five crore to the district by the Mission Director Experimental District Program on getting the first place. Along with this, an additional allocation of two crore rupees has been made to Banka and Sheikhpura. The allocation has been given on the basis of the performance of the three districts in May this year. Gaya District Aspiration District Program Mission Director Rakesh Ranjan has sent a letter to the Chief Secretary of Bihar in this regard. In the letter, he has mentioned that "Gaya district has secured the first place and has become entitled to receive an additional allocation of five crore rupees. Apart from this, Banka and Sheikhpura have achieved good rank overall. At the same time, both these districts are entitled to receive an additional allocation of two crore rupees. The letter states that "As per the scheme guidelines, the districts will have to prepare an action plan proposal in consultation with the state and central in-charge officers. At the same time, NITI Aayog will have to send a proposal for the final approval of the rights of the authority. For the program of aspirational districts, NITI Aayog called for a project management unit including a team of ADB and UNDP experts to assist the districts in the construction of projects. The director has also mentioned in the letter that "I will request you to issue a good service entry to the District Officer for the outstanding performance of the districts". Dr. Tyagarajan SM, DM of Gaya district, said, said, " “Additional allocation will be used to ensure better health management of women and children across the district. A plan will be prepared to reduce maternal mortality under the ongoing Wonder Program in the district.
