People are going to get relief from power crisis soon in Madhya Pradesh. A floating solar power plant is being built in Khandwa to increase power generation capacity in the state and to overcome electricity problems in the region. It is being told that this solar power plant will generate 600 MW of electricity by the year 2022-23. Officials related to the scheme say that this solar power plant will be built in the world's largest floating solar plant. The estimated expenditure of this project is about 3000 thousand crore rupees. This solar power plant will be built on the Omkareshwar dam in Narmada.

Principal Secretary of the Department of Renewable Energy, Sanjay Dubey told the news agency ANI, “We generate water from water under the hydrological project. It is spread over about 100 square kilometers. This is a very large water body, where the water level is normal. We will have a 300 MW PPA. " Dubey also highlighted that Khandwa will become the only district in Madhya Pradesh with new floating solar plant, which will have thermal power station, hydel and solar power. Dubey further said, "In the next phase we have released tenders for 300 MW, so it will be the largest project in the world, which will be called 'Floating Solar'. Khandwa will become the only district in the state with all three things including solar, hydel and thermal. ” Dubey said, "More than 4000mw electricity will be produced from the same district."
