The BCCI Apex Council meeting (BCCI ACM), on April 16, will have a 14-point agenda and take major decisions with the call on the extension of WV Raman’s term as India Women’s head coach. As the board has invited fresh applications for the position, Raman, who was appointed as the head coach in 2018.
The meeting will include the appointment of the Indian women's team's support staff and also make a call on the international schedule for the team, which took a hit amid the pandemic.
The India Women’s team will feature in a Test match for the first time in more than six years, as announced by BCCI secretary Jay Shah earlier this year, and is expected to travel to England and Australia later in 2021.
Raman, who was appointed as the head coach in 2018, was with the team in the recent home series against South Africa which hosts India lost (ODIs by 4-1 and T20Is by 2-1).
The agenda will also include the unsanctioned conduct of the Bihar Cricket League as the BCCI plans to form a working group to streamline the organisation of T20 events around the country.
The Bihar Cricket Association completed the league last month despite BCCI's directive in the middle of the event stating that it was staging the tournament without the required approval.
