The sensation spread in Jani village of Karnal on Thursday when a person's hand and legs tied to the canal were recovered. The deceased was identified as Dharambir, a resident of Taravadi. He was missing since 31 July. On August 2, the Taravadi police registered a case of disappearance on the complaint of Dharambir's family.

Dharambir's body was found naked from the western Yamuna canal. Seeing the body, it seems that Dharambir was brutally murdered first and then his body was thrown into the canal. On Thursday morning, when recovered from the canal, Dharambir's neck was tied with cloth. His hands were tied with white clothes and both feet with red clothes. The tongue was out due to suffocation.

Some fishermen were fishing in the canal at around 9:30 am on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, he informed the police after seeing the corpse lying in the canal near the bridge. After this the deceased was identified as Dharambir.

The family searched a lot after Dharambir's disappearance on 31 July but not that found. On this, on August 2, Ombir, brother of Dharambir, who lives in Dayanagar Colony of Tarawadi, complained to the police. Ombir told that his brother used to work as a walding. On July 31, at around 6 pm, he got a call from a boy named Sonu and said that if the work is needed, then Taravadi should come to the Te Point.

According to Ombir, Dharambir left the house after listening to Sonu's phone. Two hours after that, his mobile phone switch off. On 1 August, the family started searching for Dharambir but he was not found anywhere. His body was found from the canal on Thursday. Ombir feared that Sonu had killed his brother.
