CWG 2022: India's fifth medal in boxing confirmed, now Jasmin in semi -finals after Amit

Commonwealth Games 2022: Amit Panghal and Jasmin reached the semi-finals of their respective events on Thursday and scored five medals in India's boxing ring.

Commonwealth Games 2022: Amit Panghal and Jasmin reached the semi -finals of their competition at the Commonwealth Games here on Thursday and made five medals in India's boxing ring. In the Gold Coast, the last phase silver medalist Panghal won the flyweight (48-51 kg) quarter-finals in a unanimous decision against Lenon Muligan of Scotland.

Jasmin also did amazing

Jasmin then defeated Try Garton of New Zealand in a 4–1 divided judgment in the quarter-finals of women's lightweight (60 kg) category. The match between Panghal and Muligan was not very challenging. The 26 -year -old Indian boxer tired his young Scottish rival with his strong protection. Panghal gathered points in the middle of the fast -paced counter attack.

Panghal also did wonders

In the first two rounds, Panghal instigated Muligan to become aggressive, keeping the guard down '(playing hands down) but quickly got out of his reach. In between, he defeated the 20-year-old rival boxer with a left hand punch. In the final round, he held a box in a combination of 'One-Two' (one after another) and confirmed his second medal in the Commonwealth Games. Nikhat Zarine (50 kg), Neetu Gaghas (48 kg) and Mohammad Hussamuddin (57 kg) have also reached the semi -finals and have confirmed medals in their sections.

Lawn ball failure

India's Mridul Borgohen failed to reach the quarterfinals after losing in the fifth round match of the Commonwealth Games Lawn Ball Men's single event here on Thursday. Mridul Borgohen lost 13-21 against Jersey's Ross Davis. The Indian player took a 6-5 lead at the end of the fifth round, but then he gave his opponent a chance to return. Davis continued to move forward and won the match.
