Amarnath Yatra temporarily suspended
Amarnath Yatra | The famous Amarnath Yatra areas of Jammu and Kashmir are receiving heavy rains. The tents set up along the Yatra route were washed away due to a sudden downpour. Two pilgrims died and many were injured. The injured were airlifted to hospitals for treatment. NDRF and SDRF forces have undertaken relief operations. Officials have announced that the Amarnath Yatra will be temporarily suspended due to heavy flooding.
After midnight on Thursday (from 1 am on Friday), it is raining heavily in Ramban district of Kashmir. On Friday morning, the landslides were removed and the road was restored. Police said that Abdul Karim (55), who was living in a house in Mandi area of Poonch district, died due to a landslide.
