In the Surjit Singh case, who went missing from the custody of Punjab Police, the CBI court sentenced 3-3 years imprisonment to 3-3 years, including retired IPS Balkar Singh, 30 years after the incident. Apart from Balkar Singh, retired SHO Udham Singh and Sub Inspector Sahib Singh are included in it, but the families are dissatisfied with this justice found after 30 years. The victim's family will now appeal to the upper court, so that the punishment of the culprits can increase. The case is dated 7 May 1992. Surjit Singh was raised by the police from Paursi Rajput village of Amritsar. The then DSP IPS Balkar Singh, SHO Udham Singh and Constable Udham Singh took this action. The rest of Surjeet's companions were released, but Surjeet never returned home. The family turned to the High Court. The High Court found some suspects in the case and investigated it to CBI in 2000. There were 9 accused in the case, out of which 5 were acquitted by CBI, one accused Satwant Singh died. Later in the afternoon it was found that apart from Surjit Singh, Paramjit Singh and Jatinder Singh were taken to the Intarogation Center (now Punjab Police's Intelligence Branch Department) at Mal Mandi, Amritsar. Surjeet's name appeared in the news on the 9th. On the night of 8 May, the family had laid down arms. The family said- Paramjit Kaur, wife of Surjit Singh, not satisfied with the sentence, issued dissatisfaction over the decision of the CBI court. He says that after 30 years, the accused were sentenced to just 3-3 years. His family shattered in these 30 years. Only Surjeet was the one who earned the house. The family did not even have food after he left. Once the High Court gave financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh, but this is not enough. He will now go to the upper court and appeal to increase the sentence and provide financial assistance to the family. After 9 days, the police sent a message to the panchayat that the police sent a message to the panchayat about 9 days after the incident. The oral message said that 'Offer bhog'. After this, he took 4 years to cover his family. There was no ration to eat at home. Sometimes brother or sometimes relatives used to come and help.
